I have had the great fortune to be in several group fields recently and to embody and also learn a huge amount. This was from Adyashanti giving his finale event, the EarthWorks V in-person class with Anthony Gorman and an Embodiment class taught by Ric Weinman. Right now there is an extraordinary sense of Grace, Love and gratitude, in addition to a clear feeling of embodiment. Yet integrating all of this leaves me rather speechless to explain it – lol! Perhaps that’s the point 😉 

This appeared in the sky above us over Hyde Park, during a pivotal moment in conversation with friends on the evening the EarthWorks V class finished :-  

There are a few things from that very recent Embodiment class, however, which I would like to share. There were 157 of us present. It was beautiful to hear Ric reading from Adyashanti’s book ‘Falling Into Grace’, part of which contained fascinating notes on the end of suffering. The gist of this bit I feel is crucial to groc. It is essentially that, waking up to the true nature of our being but also waking up to a whole roomful of illusions we carry, is probably going to be the only way to end the suffering we feel. Awakening can be quite disturbing really, because “who wants to find out that everything they felt was real was nothing but a pocketful of dreams..? Who wants to find out that everything they hold onto and cling to is the very reason they suffer..?” 

Adyashanti went on to explain our addiction to approval, power and control, none of which brings an end to suffering – and, in fact, is the actual cause of it. So the truth is that most of us don’t actually want to wake up at all; we don’t want to end our suffering – rather, we want to manage it. We would like to have a little bit less of it, so that we can just go on with our lives as they are – unchanged, the way we want to live them. Hearing Adya’s words reminded me a bit of something Jesus is supposed to have said, written in the Gospel of Thomas : “Seek, and you shall find. But when you find, you will be disturbed. And when you are disturbed, you will marvel. And then you will reign. And after you have reigned, you will rest.” Taken in the correct manner and not by the ego, this statement can be very freeing. The deepest addiction we have is to suffering itself – and this is something we really don’t want to see. “The very thing we want to be without is the thing we’re addicted to.” If we look at this sincerely, it can be revealed that we have no idea how to live without suffering. We don’t know how to interact, what to do with our time and energy or how to be, if we aren’t suffering.

I find myself still in a very deep integration process after the recent Deepening in Divinity class I took in Boston. I cannot seem to come up with words to describe either the class, the impacts of it or where I am now in my embodiment. When something this profound hits you, there is almost a sense of disbelief, even while it is happening. All I wish to express at this point is, don’t ever lose faith or trust and don’t ever stop surrendering. When one begins to see the way things really are, automatically there is a recognition of just how Divine the whole of life actually is. And, perhaps also, how foolish one has been not to have seen that during some parts of the journey of life.

The Big Fish

Hello 🙂 

How are you?

I was very sad to hear of the death of David Lynch a few days ago. He was an incredibly important influence on my family, friends and I. I actually consider him to be a creative genius and the greatest director of all time. By 1991, his work had taken London by storm…it was a massive thing. Responding to a question about the success of his series ‘Twin Peaks’, David told Patti Smith, “Do what you believe in.” 

Kyle MacLachlan, who starred as Agent Dale Cooper in that series, wrote in tribute : “He was not interested in answers because he understood that questions are the drive that make us who we are.” Beautiful in standalone, as an observation about the way of things, his remark also reminded me that I had once heard Adyashanti saying, “I haven’t come to answer your questions but to question your answers.” Of course, I am not making any of the three the same, but it is true that Lynch was an avid meditator. Tomorrow, which would have been his 79th Birthday, his four children have called for a 10 minute worldwide meditation in honour of their father. It is at 8pm London time. Steven Spielberg has described Lynch as “a singular visionary dreamer who directed films that felt handmade.” When I found out he had died, I had a similar reaction to that of when my father died, in that I felt no resistance at all but rather a sense of aligned Truth, whilst also experiencing love and loss (though to very differing degrees in each case). The strange thing is, a day or so before Lynch’s death I decided to make the following list :-

Again uncannily, the evening before my father Roger Nokes died (which was completely sudden and unexpected), my brother and I were with him compiling lists of the best films of all time! We were having such a laugh together with it… Maybe realising it was a type of futile madness to rate creativity like this, and yet somehow compelled, perhaps out of sheer passion for the work we had all been exposed to over many decades and different eras in history.

A friend told me a very beautiful story this week, which I would like to share with you. There was once a Tibetan monk who became imprisoned by the Chinese government during the taking of Tibet. He was in prison for 15 years and was tortured frequently. When he came out, friends asked him how it was. He replied describing the prison as a very dangerous place. The friends nodded, saying they had imagined it would be, and asking him to continue. The monk said, “There were two moments when I almost lost compassion.”

Destination Destiny

Hello 🙂

How are you? 

I have some significant news to share with you today, which might come as quite a surprise. Last week, I made the decision to move here to Portugal. It was a case of simply recognising what was already happening and then tuning into what I sensed intuitively, meditating in a Silent eucalyptus forest in the foothills of the mountains. The greatest thing I feel to communicate now, is that I want you to know I already miss you and that this move is very challenging for me. I am going on pure intuition here. 

I imagine that this may bring up a lot for some of you and I want to acknowledge that. Please feel free to reach out here, or via WhatsApp / Telegram to share your feelings with me. However, remember that during the periods when I am in London, I will offer in-person sessions again (as well as online). I will travel to you if you live in central London : please stay tuned for more details and info about this. It looks likely that I will be in London from the 11th October for a few weeks, but this does depend on the residency process in Portugal and what stage it is at.

How are you doing? 🙂 

It’s difficult to describe the beauty of this country of Portugal, of my friends and of this retreat centre. Yet I found myself again sitting at breakfast and writing, in the pin-drop Silence, deep in the natural world, with a realisation dawning as if it had been sent on the wind.

“It’s Grace that’s brought me here, brought me to this moment. And everything – but only everything – which came before this, led me here. What people call the good, the bad and the ugly – all of it. 

Perhaps, then, every single experience is karma, and if so, what sense is there in resisting any part of the process of life? Do we simply receive back what we have previously given? If so, is this not the harmony – already fully existing – which we so voraciously seek outside of ourselves, outside of this moment, always outside..? 

What if harmony, what if peace, what if cessation, are all an inside job? Who am I to argue with this life..? Who am I?”

I will conclude today with an experience which occurred during the build-up to the first Darshan of my long stay in Amritapuri. There is a kind of poetry to the fact it happened on the very last day of 2022 and that it was my first Darshan in three years. Here is what I wrote about it :-

“I received Darshan just as this day had broken. As the man in front of me was receiving his, Amma showed me Her eyes….… It was in a way I had never seen them before. She showed me Eternity……… 

It felt like a steadying force for me, especially for my mind. What I saw was so deep…in those eyes…like pools going on forever……. Eternity….…yet more…….. I felt Amma displaying clearly what I need to dive into.”

Aren’t we incredibly fortunate?

At breakfast just now, some wisdom flew in that I felt to share with you. I was contemplating how one lives this awakeness, instead of continuing along in the old actions and the old narrative. I had an insight about what stops this naturalness. One face of the coin, is the sheer quantity of conditioning that is left over from past incarnations, genetics and childhood, and that it is way more than we imagine. Simultaneously, it’s the identification with remaining separateness, with the deep sense of ‘me’, which persists even after profound awakenings and / or significant extent of embodiment of those awakenings. Vortex Healing is a robust path because it offers a way through both of these – and is perhaps the best thing out there doing so. Aren’t we incredibly fortunate? 

I have been sitting with re-starting the Groups. I don’t feel a clear Yes – for now anyway. My sense is that it isn’t the right time. It could change at any point though and I will let you know. I am very sorry about this.

I have received inner guidance not to write more about my experiences of living with Amma at the moment, so apologies if you were waiting for these. I think this may be because so much has happened since then, in terms of embodiment. Perhaps the learning I gained while with Amma in the flesh has been absorbed into the fabric of what I am and is maturing here. If so, it will already be expressing in what I offer to all of you. But honestly, I don’t know why – I only know to follow the  guidance which arises from within.

In an interview with Amma which I was watching recently, She was asked what her central message to humanity is. She replied, “Be honest with oneself and have faith.” Even as I write these words, I get goosebumps all over and feel Light filling everywhere… Later on in the interview, Amma added, “I don’t have a message higher than my own life.”

Following the previous Group Healing, I received a deeply touching email from one of you, along with other messages and emails about your experiences. These are always gratefully received, so thank you 🙂 I am including parts of the aforementioned email anonymously:-

“I had my first mini-bhakti today, most likely because of your group healing. I loved the story of Amma, then the healing itself in which I felt things, then your email about weeping and crying out to Divinity…so this afternoon, during a transmission in which I felt that the Merlin-mantra was only coming out of my mind, I somehow could surrender and open up, give in to a longing for connection with Merlin/Divinity, and I was in tears, and ‘held’, seen. ’Twas a small wonder, and all because I attended your group healing…”

I want to acknowledge the death of the Queen, the appointment of King Charles III and the appointment of Prime Minister Liz Truss. Quite an epic rollercoaster for the UK / Britain, in the space of only a few days!! Whatever your view may be, it is a significant loss and one which has been felt in some way by everyone, particularly in London. ‘Yantra Fridays’ with Anthony are back on 🙂 These are free and they are seva (selfless service) for the earth and humanity. Anyone who has completed the Foundational training (or above) can participate. Please contact me if you would like to do this and do not have the details to join. These sessions are very powerful indeed: yesterday, I participated and a friend of 20 years spontaneously called me straight afterwards, who had also been there. We could barely communicate at first, because we were so blasted by the intensity of the energetic from the Divine Doors. We were just laughing so hard! Unbeknownst to us during the Yantra, our brains had been reconfigured in some way – perhaps an upgrade – which I am still feeling today. It’s like a kind of bliss and harmonisation. 

Are you interested in learning a meditation technique directly from Amma’s mind? The IAM (Integrated Amrita Meditation) Technique came about in 2004 (if I remember correctly). Apparently, Amma went for a walk around Amritapuri ashram in the wee hours of the morning, when no-one was about, and the steps came to Her one-by-one in a vision while gazing at the sea. I first learned it that same year, at the San Ramon ashram. I found it tremendously helpful each morning during my brief affair with Advertising. When in the office, I felt I had a shield of protection around every part of me and a direct link to Divinity. Further down the line, I experienced samadhi for a few seconds during one part of the practice. Did you know that you can see Amma live online every day? What a wonder…we are so blessed and graced to have the chance to be with a living Divine incarnation – a pure and direct embodiment of Divinity in human form – so regularly and easily 🙂 🙂 🙂 It is the first time in the history of the world that this is the case. Ever since the original pandemic lock-down, Amma has been providing this spiritual lifeline to all those who have met Her in-person or who have done seva for Embracing The World. I went to the annual Notting Hill Carnival on Monday. It was a relief to see it back, alive and kicking, after facing two years of cancellation due to Covid restrictions. The unity consciousness was stunning…….and I guess this is why I am mentioning it to you. That sense of oneness which comes from a mass of diverse people coming together in the name of celebration, is so compelling 🙂 🙂 🙂 Here is a brief history of the Carnival :-

I have received a few requests over the pandemic period for in-person sessions. As much as I would love to do this, I am following inner guidance and it is still a No from Divinity. This may be for individual as well as collective reasons – I don’t know – but either way, I am not yet getting a Yes. I will continue to tune in and let you know how it unfolds.

Here is some important information about upcoming Vortex Healing classes with Anthony Gorman, which will be relevant to some of you:-

• There is a NEW Magical Structures training on the schedule for 9-13 June. This is the next class to take if you have only taken the Foundational training.

  • If you have already taken Multi-Frequency, then the follow on LifeForm training still has some places left for 26-30 April, the next one will be given in 2022 . So if you are planning on taking it and you still haven’t booked, then you should book straight away. By Monday the 12th of April, places of repeaters who booked their place will be guaranteed.
