Free Online Group Healing : 1pm this Friday

How are you?

I am good 🙂 Just in case you are wondering, I am not in London. The stage of the residency process I am currently in here in Portugal would not allow me to take that flight on the 11th, as planned. So I am returning to London for around 3 weeks on the 15th December. During that time, I will be offering in-person private sessions again 🙂 🙂 🙂 If you live within London tube Zones 1 or 2, I will come to your home. The price is £100 and you can pay via bank transfer, cash, Wise or PayPal before the start time of your session. Please contact me via WhatsApp or Telegram to book in-person sessions.

Now that I have had time to process it, I am ready to acknowledge Adyashanti’s retirement. Hopefully you have heard about this already and my mentioning it is not a shock. It is difficult for me to write or talk about this because I have felt so emotional about Adya retiring. I just can’t believe that this time has come…I never thought it would, even though it feels completely right. I feel that from the depth which he is now in, there is nothing more to communicate about awakening or embodiment. He has given everything to the world and now is the time to surrender into the Silence he so loves in a final way. (Just to be clear, I am not talking about physical death.) The legacy Adya is leaving behind in retiring, is one of grass-roots goodness, Truth, Compassion and dharmic selflessness. I will be ever grateful for all he has revealed and encouraged me to dive into within. The blessings he has brought into my life are exquisite, continuous in nature, untold, untellable… Often, I find myself crying inside and, in moments of solitude, these tears surface to freedom.

Grace

How are you doing? 🙂

It’s difficult to describe the beauty of this country of Portugal, of my friends and of this retreat centre. Yet I found myself again sitting at breakfast and writing, in the pin-drop Silence, deep in the natural world, with a realisation dawning as if it had been sent on the wind.

“It’s Grace that’s brought me here, brought me to this moment. And everything – but only everything – which came before this, led me here. What people call the good, the bad and the ugly – all of it.

Perhaps, then, every single experience is karma, and if so, what sense is there in resisting any part of the process of life? Do we simply receive back what we have previously given? If so, is this not the harmony – already fully existing – which we so voraciously seek outside of ourselves, outside of this moment, always outside..?

What if harmony, what if peace, what if cessation, are all an inside job? Who am I to argue with this life..? Who am I?”

I have been sitting with re-starting the Groups. I don’t feel a clear Yes – for now anyway. My sense is that it isn’t the right time. It could change at any point though and I will let you know.

I will conclude today with an experience which occurred during the build-up to the first Darshan of my long stay in Amritapuri. There is a kind of poetry to the fact it happened on the very last day of 2022 and that it was my first Darshan in three years. Here is what I wrote about it :-

“I received Darshan just as this day had broken. As the man in front of me was receiving his, Amma showed me Her eyes….… It was in a way I had never seen them before. She showed me Eternity………

It felt like a steadying force for me, especially for my mind. What I saw was so deep…in those eyes…like pools going on forever……. Eternity….…yet more…….. I felt Amma displaying clearly what I need to dive into.”

I am great and yes – I am back in London 🙂

In simple terms, being with Amma in-person for three and a half months (the longest single stretch I have ever spent with Her) was a huge reset. I have so much to say about that…… One thing I realised within being reset is, any question I have, Amma will answer at the right time.

On to practical matters: firstly, my sincere apologies for all the tech and connectivity problems in India. You did so well to tolerate – thank you for your patience.

I am currently waiting to hear back from a venue I have in mind for in-person sessions. Regarding Groups, please bear with me as I have only just integrated my return from Amma’s form / living in Amritapuri.

Ammazing!

It is so ammazing here… I simply don’t have words to describe… As someone once said in a documentary, Amma is an experience.

I am sorry that I haven’t written for a while. Ashram life is completely absorbing on every imaginable level. I have decided not to offer Groups while here in Amritapuri. The Groups will resume once I return.

I am available for Private Sessions once per day on Zoom in the usual way, but for 7 days per week. Sessions will be at 2 30pm IST (9am GMT). As a reminder, I am returning to London on the 12th April and will adjust my availability accordingly after that.

In Wild Heaven

Hello 🙂

How are you?

I am great 🙂 Being here with a direct physical incarnation of Divinity, living in harmony with nature, people and animals and having an awakening focus to everything each day, feels like wild heaven… In fact, I heard a wonderful song of similar name on the plane jukebox flying here: R.E.M’s ‘Near Wild Heaven’.

It occurs to me that the more we willingly relinquish in favour of Truth, Reality, unconditioned Love – the happier we are. Or at least, the happier we end up: it can involve a process, sometimes a rather long one – lol! I believe this is also why Amma recommends seva (selfless service) as the primary awakening practice for all her devotees. In the deepest place within, it quite simply makes a human being happiest to serve without personal gain.

My friends and I have been sharing that it is actually difficult to do paid work here at the ashram, because one feels as if going against a great tide…as if, in the very air and atmosphere of Amritapuri, this dharma is flowing.

As such, I have settled on a new schedule for Private Sessions while I am here with Amma. I have not yet settled on the same for the Groups, I am still feeling into that and patiently awaiting intuition. Therefore, for now I have cancelled all existing Group Healings, so please note this.

I will be available for one Private Session per day on Zoom in the usual way, but for 7 days per week. Sessions will be at 2 30pm IST (9am GMT) each day. This begins on the 17th February. As a reminder, I am returning to London on the 12th April and will adjust my availability accordingly at that time. Apologies if any of this is an inconvenience you.

I would like to share a couple of short points, from things I have learned by listening to the satsangs and my experiences here.

One aspect of compassion is viewing all experiences which come to us – the good, the bad and the ugly – as gifts from God. When this attitude becomes true and real, the mind immediately becomes tranquil.

Something crucial I find about Darshan with Amma, in particular when asking a question, is that – whatever I bring – Amma consistently responds with such a relaxed feeling and way about Her. It makes me feel that, if Amma is so relaxed about this, perhaps I can relax about it too. That is one of the greatest gifts Amma has given me over the course of my lifetime (and possibly many lifetimes – who knows?).

One devotee shared a very beautiful thing which Amma once said : “At the end of our days on this earth, after all our successes and failures, the measure of our life will be how much we have loved” ~ Amma

Free Online Group Healing : this Wednesday :-)

How are you?

Have you noticed there is a vast feeling of space everywhere, at all times and in all situations..? It is a grand Silence, relatable to the feeling of walking into a cathedral or huge art-deco ballroom. It is both ‘inside’ and ‘outside’. It’s as if Eternity is rising to greet the mind with a welcoming happy glance. Often the mind says, No [insert excuses], which is fine and the vast space remains totally undisturbed. There is something beautifully non-negotiable about it…we just cannot bargain with what is. What is, is never part of that game: the game of being “in business with life” as Tony Parsons has so wonderfully described it. That belongs to a completely different landscape, a level upon which the real doesn’t dance its dance. The real can easily disguise itself inside one of the dancers, but it does not itself devote to that kind of manipulation. All forcing, beguiling and making deals ends with the dawning of unconditional Love, which is perhaps the culmination of this vast space.

It’s a funny thing that the unreal never is or was real, so why do we all pretend for so many painful years that it is? Eventually of course, death comes and immediately exposes the mythology upon which we have laid our fantasies; what we may even have termed “our lives”. Maybe all the while, Divinity is asking, hinting, “Why wait?” The freedom we crave is fully available right now. And only, ever and always now.

Somehow, I am reminded here of something Amma once said :-

“When there is true Love, anything is effortless”

Like almost everything Amma says, the sheer simplicity of it is sort-of finalising: it has a finality to it, daring the ego to stop…..dead………..check-mate.

Lastly today, you might enjoy this track from Massive Attack. It is one of those songs which everyone in my generation in England would have at least heard (if not, partially grown up on) during their teenage years. Aside from a multiverse of enthused comments I could make about it, I will say that there is something wonderfully wistful about it… And the timbre of the aural landscape gives the chance for expanse, opening, relaxation. Enjoy 🙂
