The Fire of Truth

I learned a lot from an Adyashanti satsang I was listening to on the tube this week. I will try to convey some of that learning here. The recording was made in 2002, which was the year I first met Adyashanti (now retired), when he transformed my perspective on awakening completely. When we allow ourselves to experience this moment exactly as it is, the barrier between what’s happening in the outside world and inside our skin becomes very transparent. Experiencing sounds – the humdrum of life in the street, the cars – and the sounds inside us become of the same quality. A feeling in our body isn’t really different than the sound of a vehicle – not ours and not other than ours. An understanding which is not in words, but is the direct experience of what is, reveals itself as a great gift of not looking for an alternate experience. Something mysterious knows…something mysterious experiences this moment. Yet we can’t say what it is. Because as soon as we try to – it’s not that. It’s closer, more immediate. As soon as we think about it, it’s not the thoughts – it’s before a thought. It’s closer. We begin to experience directly that we don’t exist, and yet know that we do – but we don’t, but we do… Knowing beyond understanding, yet not able to define in any way. Knowing by this mysterious unknown experiencer. We are not us after all; maybe we are this, that is awake, before all seeking. This mysterious awakeneness… But to sacrifice this for something else – for anything else… Can we not sacrifice this that’s awake, in the chair where we happen to be sitting? Not sacrifice this for the promise of a better moment. A better event, a better experience. This is the Fire of Truth. This that is awake now in us – as us – shows up the utter irrelevance of every other argument, whatever that may be. This fire is unseen and unknown. We all have a choice of, what do I give my life to? Maybe this choice has never been conscious before, but now it is. What is important to us..? Don’t lose ourself – are we going somewhere? Or are we staying here? Just notice… Whatever we do is ok 🙂 🙂 🙂 Just notice where we’re choosing to go. This is it – this is the fire. It does not leave dramatics in its wake – it leaves something unspeakable in its wake. Something more satisfying than joy, something more satisfying than peace. Beyond excitement. When we sell this that is awake out, if we sell it out – be aware and awake to what we’re selling it out to. Make the sure the bargain is what we want it to be. Or perhaps we may, by some Grace, realise that nothing inside of us wants to sell this that is awake out anymore. Not even for our security, our existence or the good opinion of others. A life free from negotiation and bargaining. As Tony Parsons used to ask us, “Are you in business with life?” This is what the fire of this Truth removes from us : our negotiation and our bargaining with what is. That violence of attitude is finally absent. To really receive this gift fully, it’s got to be given to everybody, everywhere. We’ve got to notice that this that is awake doesn’t want anyone to change or improve – at all. That’s the ash of the fire. “A minute a go I wanted you to change, but now I don’t. You’re fine.” Nobody conformed to our pattern and yet happiness more than anything before is now here. This that is awake is the same in everybody and everything. The rest is a beautiful diversity.

I would like to tell a little story about my time at the ashram in India with Amma. When my friends and I were reunited in Amritapuri, we received Grace upon Grace continuously for about a week and a half. It was like being in heaven… This is how it can be with Amma sometimes; just beyond…….. During this ecstatic period, each of us could be found at different times literally crying with tears of joy and gratitude, because of the things that kept happening to us. One such time, we were asked by another friend to participate in the seva of passing the Prasad plates during Amma’s Tuesday lunch offering. In order to receive this free food, Indians have been known to travel – by foot – for miles on end to reach the ashram. Obviously this action can be caused by hunger and poverty, but also – and this is one of the things I most love about India – by the cherishing of Divinity. The atmosphere in the entire country is permeated with that; no sooner than you step off the plane, you can begin to sense it. 

So there we were in the Big Hall in Amritapuri, watching hundreds of devotees eagerly lining up to receive a plate of food blessed by Amma. People queue two or three abreast and walk up a ramp to where Amma is seated, handing out plate by plate as they nervously take it from Her. If a devotee is very elderly or disabled, after Amma touches the plate it gets passed down to a line of sevites, who ensure its safe passage into the hands of that devotee, who by then is being helped to walk. Upon entering this seva, I broke down in tears. I felt overwhelmed by the sense of unconditional Love in the air, in my life and by the Grace flowing everywhere. And I just felt so grateful to be there, experiencing this, and towards Amma…I couldn’t hold back my tears. Eventually, I was given the position in the line of sevites whereby I could see the whole of Amma directly. As everything was happening, it was as if She opened a window into Reality for me. As I was passing the plates along, I felt everything slow down, to the point of timelessness : time seemed to evaporate and actions seemed to be as if in slow-motion. Then I felt a kind of motion like the fabric of Reality got consumed / sucked in / absorbed into Mystery. Amma began to reveal to me that She was in control of everyone in the scene. I perceived Her as Divinity moving every single person and manifesting every other movement taking place as well, right from the way people walked, to if the food plate dropped on the floor, to if it didn’t – every tiny detail was included in that Totality. Everything appeared as both moving and still at once. It seemed comical to me when I gazed at people, that they were acting as though they were individuals. Because I could see with clarity that this was not the case. It was like Amma was the centre, so-to-speak, directing Creation; with absolutely no separation between these apparent two. All was being directed by Her Will.

I would like to share something from the Q&A discussion during the last Group Healing. I loved this so much when one of you said it, that I requested it in written form afterwards. “The quote (as I remember from a few years back) was spoken by Yong Oh, a teacher at the Durango Dharma Center: “I’ve learned to love all of my karma, the good and the bad.” The phrasing may be simple, but living from that truth is hard!” 

As many of you know, I attended the recent in-person Deepening in Divinity class in Wakefield, MA. I am honestly still speechless about it… The only comment I can make, is that it has transformed my system and my life on every level I am aware of (and probably also those I am not aware of). The gratitude I feel for the Grace we all received from Merlin remains raw, tender, precious… Whenever I sit down and contemplate it, tears come to my eyes.

During the class, we were also gifted one night with the presence of a talented kirtan artist who used to play with Krishna Das, called Shubal. He recounted a Darshan he had once had with Amma. During it, he asked Her, “What can I do about my addictions?” Amma responded by explaining that his addictions were like a comb for a bald head. She went on to say, “The medicine for your illness lies in the space between your thoughts.”

I saw some of you at the EarthShift this past weekend 🙂 Wasn’t it incredible..? I have to say that I think, for me, that was the most intense and striking one to date (aside from the first one I ever did in 2002). In this one, we managed to create – well, Merlin and the Angels really 😉 – a massive Peace Portal into humanity. There was one particular episode we all did together where I could literally feel the Peace bridging into humanity and it made me cry. It was so palpable…it felt like Peace was enveloping the whole human race. I felt a renewed hope, which burst my heart open and I could sense the reality of Peace. It cut through everything…all the bullshit, everything… It was as if I could see through all the ‘stuff’ that gets in the way and perceive this inpouring of Peace into Creation. That river or ocean of Peace was a true and direct expression of Divinity. I felt so awe-struck and grateful to be part of the unfoldment of that and for the wider Divine context of my role in life. To be able to make a small contribution to the healing of this human race was experienced as a deep fortune and privilege.

The following morning, I was sitting in bliss on my balcony in the sunshine, when something truly remarkable happened. It seemed to demonstrate or hint at the power of these EarthShifts. I received an out-of-the-blue message from one of you, who had not been in the class nor knew anything about it. He wanted to donate money to Amma’s charity and wondered could I pass it on to Amma..? Aside from the beauty of that, the interesting thing was that I had previously made a donation to Amma’s charity for the EarthShift on behalf of me and a friend who did the class with me – but had had the subtle thought that perhaps I hadn’t given enough for two people. Now it felt as if the person sending that message was adding the final amount to our joint contribution! You know when you have a slight thought without attachment and then it comes true..? Things line up. It was one of those. I couldn’t get over the timing of this person’s apparently ‘random’ request! 

Our message stream culminated in this stunning statement from him about his reason for wanting to donate the money : “Have an opportunity to be connected to something bigger, more caring than you feel yourself, giving a hope. It’s like a light string, and i wish everyone have that Thread of light no matter what, to escape and be Safe.” Aside from how beautiful his service orientation is, he couldn’t have known that during the EarthShift we had each received the gift of a Thread of Peace into our personal systems! I am convinced that this person sensed that on some level, without being there in the class and without me communicating anything at all about it to him at any stage. The practically identical language he used is not a coincidence in my opinion. Just amazing stuff… 

Thank you to the person who sent me this statement during the week. It is something which has been resounding in my heart for many years now, though she didn’t know that – another wow! I feel it really captures the reason, so-to-speak, why ‘personal’ awakening is significant in manifesting peace in the world :-

Energy Flow

How are you?

I am well and have some exciting news today 🙂 I have had a client for a few years now, Kitty Shukman, who is a streetwear and shoe designer. There was an instant connection between us from the start, which is always lovely, and also with her mother, author Jessica Pryce-Jones, who comes for sessions with me as well. Over time, we each bonded and became friends as well as healer / clients and the sessions continued. Kitty was recently bestowed with the prestigious honour of being selected as one of only a handful of young designers to present their own brands at London Fashion Week. Having established herself with several enigmatic streetwear brands and fashion houses, the opportunity to present what she had created independently was priceless for Kitty. She asked me to support her with the show, both to prepare her for such an undertaking and to do space clearing and personal healing at the show itself, being there to hold space for her and her crew. 

I remembered at that point, our journey together with Amma at the Los Angeles program this summer. I managed to get us onto the stage with Amma when Kitty entered the hall. We were seated at the back of the stage, yet Amma found Kitty’s eyes several times and gave her a deep gaze. For some reason, probably Grace, we were kept on the stage for more than an hour, which is unusual nowadays especially for a first-timer. When it came to Darshan, Amma spent a great deal of time with Kitty, playing like a child with the healing chocolate characters she has created, along with her amazing tarot cards and shoe designs – part of the collection for her brand ‘Again’, aka ‘Positive Energy Flows Again’. Amma then reached over and handed her an apple. That was when I really knew…something is going to come of this. 

Skip on a couple of months, and back here in London I was doing an in-person session for Kitty. One of the things I did was to create a Divine Door for ‘Positive Energy Flows Again’ (an EW4 MRLN Mendra Divine Door), placing it in one of the shoe prototypes and more widely into the consciousness of the whole brand. Merlin prompted me to ask Kitty to get specific about her intention with her career, which she did. I won’t share what she said, but suffice to say it was both sincere and selfless, so much so it brought tears to my eyes. Again, at that moment, I knew…something is going to come of this. 

The day came for the show last Friday and it was so exciting! I felt intimidated going in, to be honest, but thankfully I realised quickly that I had indeed managed to rummage out good clothes for the occasion – lol! I had a clear intention for being there, which also helped a lot : to be a healing presence for Kitty, the crew and models, for Kitty’s artistic vision, for the work itself and to channel on the set. Things were already underway when I arrived at midday and Kitty’s sound designer and I discussed how to create the right atmosphere for the show. He was very open to Amma, so Kitty asked him to play the 1000 Names loudly on set while I cleared the whole space. That was one of my favourite moments – pure magic : there I was, with Amma’s Swami chanting over the speakers, entering into this fascinating and unknown world and doing what I most love to do. The show itself was centred around a shoe – the infinity shoe :-

Suffice to say, when showtime hit and it came time to welcome the 400 guests from the fashion world, everything was spectacular! And Kitty said she felt that I had fixed a major lighting issue, by creating a Divine Door and then sitting with the situation in the Global Healing Grid. It’s hard to remember everything else now, because it was such an intense and thrilling day, but the feelings are something that I think will stay with me forever. 

Here are a couple of snippets :-

The following day, I was on the tube and received a Telegram message from an Amma friend. She wondered if I knew a designer who had mentioned Vortex Healing and Amma in her interview for Vogue magazine? My mouth fell open… I opened the link she had sent me and stared, with absolute astonishment… There, right before my very eyes, were the words ‘Vortex Healing’ written at the top of an entire article in Vogue. Not only that, but Amma’s full name – Mata Amritanandamayi – was also in the article, plus the ‘energy healer’ referred to was me. I marvelled at what Divinity had created… I was in awe…

I got off the tube at my stop and, in a usual rush, ran to get the escalator and continue my journey to the next client. But as I crossed over that way, I broke down in tears. I was crying, right in the middle of the tube station – I simply couldn’t stop those tears. I was, quite literally, overjoyed. If there was any story behind the joy inside my tears, it was about what this could mean for Amma’s dream for humanity, for Kitty, for Vortex Healing and for me. Then in my heart I silently prayed, thanking Amma and Merlin over and over again. Things have been very challenging on a human life level for me recently, yet this miracle from God just wiped all that away. The drama came to an end. As I cried, all I could feel was Divinity. I was reconnected. And in that reconnection, it was like I was looking through a window, which I realised was a window into Reality. I perceived that Reality never changes. I could also feel that I am always and only looked after, always and only loved, always and only in Divinity. And so are you. It was a revelation…a total sensing, an insight which included everyone and everything.

I would like to finish by recounting a brief tale. This was told to us all in a satsang during Tour, by a Brahmacharini in yellow whom I greatly respect. She said a man had come for Amma’s Darshan and asked Amma for advice on his sadhana (spiritual practices). Amma’s answer was very beautiful, with a touching yet profound simplicity which only She seems able to convey :- 

“Any action which doesn’t harm the world is sadhana” ~ Amma

I would like to tell you the story of what happened to me today, to try to convey some of the Wild Grace which permeates these Tours with Amma. 

I had just left my friend and the hotel we were staying in and wanted to find coffee, having stayed up with Amma all night for Devi Bhava here in Boston. I went to a random cafe nearby and, as I approached the counter, I could feel Amma (from within) nudging me to strike up a conversation with the people in front of me in line. I resisted, yet the feeling persisted. Finally, I started talking to them and discovered that they were actually Amma devotees who had just been to the program. We had a brief but warm and joyful conversation and afterwards I sat down in a different part of the cafe. I wanted to have breakfast alone because I was beginning to get concerned that I hadn’t booked anything for this leg of the journey. Basically, I was winging it – lol! I had no accommodation for tonight and no transport either. 

No sooner than I had finished eating, when an Indian family from London (who I had not yet noticed at the next table) began talking to me. They were grateful because I had helped them during the program to gain permission to give Prasad to Amma (one of those closely guarded seva activities in which we get close to Amma). In our short, yet also somehow timeless conversation, they ended up giving me vital information about Q&As with Amma – without even knowing that this matter was at the forefront of my mind. 

The next moment, the lady from the earlier conversation (at the counter) approached me and asked if I wanted a ride as she was about to leave for Boston airport. I checked the route and area and realised I could easily access the city from there, so I gratefully accepted her offer – thinking that I would get a hotel for the night in Boston itself. I prayed with gratitude to Amma, already amazed by the assistance I was being offered by complete strangers and feeling the rising Grace behind it all. In the car, this lady (Aishwarya / Landry) told me a story about a family she had met on Europe Tour in Barcelona in 2018. Later on in the car journey, I mentioned Vortex Healing and – to my amazement – it turned out that the family from her story was Daniel Wald, Amanda and Mala (friends / Vortex Healing teacher)! Aishwarya and I were so blown away that we were almost screaming with delight and her teenage daughter Uma had to tell us to pipe down – lol! We had a beautiful, warm and wonderful conversation for the rest of the journey 🙂 filled with sharing and stories. When I got out of the car, I thought I may as well search for a hotel there, since sometimes they are less expensive near an airport. Literally just as I opened my phone to do so, I received a message out-of-the-blue from a devotee friend whom I had seen earlier on the Tour. For some reason, even though we rarely contact each other, she messaged specifically to offer me a place to stay! 🙂 I was mesmerised, especially by the timing….… And so it has unfolded and I am now on the train to her place in beautiful Rhode Island, to swim in the Atlantic and unwind, before the New York leg of Amma’s Tour.

The Magical Jewel (pt.1)

How are you?

I am great 🙂 I’m writing to share what happened during the phenomenal Vortex Healing class ‘The Magical Jewel’ and to tell you about the next Free Online Group Healing. I am now back in London and will be here for at least 1 month, while I integrate this class and another significant event which happened during it. 

The part of the class I wish to share, is what could be called (for want of better words) a profound awakening, which has probably been the most life-changing so far. Here is what I wrote about it and shared in class :-

There was a meditation in which Ric Weinman asked the class to “use the world as the mantra”. All-of-a-sudden, for some unknown reason, I recognised immediately what was being pointed to. It was as if, whatever Ric was instructing, I was able to sense both what he was talking about, but more importantly where he was coming from. So when those words were spoken, I burst into tears and my breathing completely changed in the seeing that the world itself ISDivinity. 

Everything began to ‘become’ this beauty and I couldn’t contain it… My body could not contain the revelation of that because of the depth it reached. Simultaneously, there was a sense of ‘this is the missing piece of the puzzle, this is what I always longed to admit to myself and to surrender to.’ I began more and more to perceive this true beauty and it broke my heart completely… Then the crying and the breathing really exploded even more and my body was breaking apart and melting away into That. I could see that every single thing was as-if being birthed by Divinity as its own Self. There was no longer any subject / object though : it was as if the world was the Divine in a complete and total way. The gratitude to perceive it all and the inherent joy of the world was totally overwhelming……… The beauty was so exquisite that I couldn’t contain in my body what I was feeling and so everything broke again and again. The insights which were coming in were impossible to record mentally, but it was like a flow throughout the being. When I would pray to Amma, it was like She was melted into the world. 

I was shocked by two things : first of all, how could I have missed this? And secondly, how could I think that anything which had happened was bad or wrong? Then I started to feel this remorse about the things I had said about people or done or thought and I began to say sorry profusely. But when I said sorry, there was this benevolence and Love which met the apologies and were coming over those “wrongdoings” like a kind of fluid of Love – yet beyond Love. I think it was what Adyashanti calls Redemptive Love. There was this profound sense of redemption of everything I had “done wrong” – and for everyone else too. In that, I couldn’t believe I had ever thought someone had wronged me. That whole sense was completely gone……..and I saw that there was absolutely no truth in it. How foolish I had been not to see that no-one could ever do that and I could never do that. Everything was ‘forgiven’ so-to-speak, and then it was noticed that there was actually an inherent sense of forgiveness in the world itself. The world was forgiving everyone that was doing these things, including even me. And this was the overriding revelation : that the world itself is Divinity. There was no ‘Divine coming into creation’, there were no two different things happening, even though the Divine was birthing the world. At another time, this would have seemed like a paradox, yet there was no sense of paradox. All I could do, was to bow down in front of this beauty… Even though there was no subject / object or anything like that, there was a bowing down in true reverence for what was being seen. 

There was an in-loveness with life, yet with everything being the same thing there wasn’t any neediness, attachment or drama. There were also no exceptions being made to this Loving : it was a total and utter thing. It didn’t make exceptions for this person or that person. I was praying, “Let me not forget this. Let me live from this, instead of going back to the old way of acting out and getting into dramas.” I was almost begging, “Let me not forget what I’ve seen. Let me live this now.” Simultaneously, strangely enough, there was such a stillness and a resting and a Silence. It was a recognition of what life actually is and how much I love it. It took me out of this ‘trying to get something from life’ and ending up eventually in despair, which was replaced with, ‘of course I love life!’ There was a distinct returning. It was a return to this absolute love of the world, this total Love…for no reason and with no agenda. Out of that naturally arose tender celebration.

Merry Christmas :-)

I would like to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy Winter Solstice for tomorrow 🙂 I hope you are enjoying the festive season as much as I am 🙂 If you live in London, I cannot recommend highly enough the current Marina Abramovic exhibition at The Royal Academy of Arts. If you do nothing else this season, it is a must-see. I am left feeling that she may be the most brave, significant and gifted modern artist of all time. There are no words for the exquisite nature of what she has created over so many years……. I can only tell you that I have been deeply impacted by it. Destination Destiny

How are you? 

I have some significant news to share with you today, which might come as quite a surprise. Last week, I made the decision to move here to Portugal. It was a case of simply recognising what was already happening and then tuning into what I sensed intuitively, meditating in a Silent eucalyptus forest in the foothills of the mountains. The greatest thing I feel to communicate now, is that I want you to know I already miss you and that this move is very challenging for me. I am going on pure intuition here. 

I imagine that this may bring up a lot for some of you and I want to acknowledge that. Please feel free to reach out here, or via WhatsApp / Telegram to share your feelings with me. However, remember that during the periods when I am in London, I will offer in-person sessions again (as well as online). It’s difficult to describe the beauty of this country of Portugal, of my friends and of this retreat centre. Yet I found myself again sitting at breakfast and writing, in the pin-drop Silence, deep in the natural world, with a realisation dawning as if it had been sent on the wind.

“It’s Grace that’s brought me here, brought me to this moment. And everything – but only everything – which came before this, led me here. What people call the good, the bad and the ugly – all of it. 

Perhaps, then, every single experience is karma, and if so, what sense is there in resisting any part of the process of life? Do we simply receive back what we have previously given? If so, is this not the harmony – already fully existing – which we so voraciously seek outside of ourselves, outside of this moment, always outside..? 

What if harmony, what if peace, what if cessation, are all an inside job? Who am I to argue with this life..? Who am I?”

I will conclude today with an experience which occurred during the build-up to the first Darshan of my long stay in Amritapuri. There is a kind of poetry to the fact it happened on the very last day of 2022 and that it was my first Darshan in three years. Here is what I wrote about it :-

“I received Darshan just as this day had broken. As the man in front of me was receiving his, Amma showed me Her eyes….… It was in a way I had never seen them before. She showed me Eternity……… 

It felt like a steadying force for me, especially for my mind. What I saw was so deep…in those eyes…like pools going on forever……. Eternity….…yet more…….. I felt Amma displaying clearly what I need to dive into.”

As some of you know, this past weekend we gathered as a community in Vortex (around 583 of us) to facilitate the latest EarthShift 🙂 🙂 🙂 First, I’d like to offer a few experiences in this EarthShift, before explaining the technicalities of what we did. This one was much more intense and deep than the last one in April, and others I have spoken with also share this sense. The essence and presence of the Angels with us, to facilitate things, was particularly palpable this time too. At one point, I simply broke down in tears because of the sheer sense of Divinity which they bring to us here on earth. As one Angel entered my spine, I felt this Love…..hope……and the strong sense that everything will be ok – even more than that, that everything IS already ok, well and safe. It’s that point at which one sees very clearly this truth, Reality.

I like it when ‘bystanders’ make a passing comment about what is happening in the EarthShift. You just stand there and feel – YES! What I mean by this is that, in the middle of the EarthShift on Saturday night, I went out to a club to see my friend DJ, as he had put me on the guest-list. The atmosphere there was amazing…so light, free and chilled. Quite something when you consider it is a club in central London full of high-powered creatives in the commercial industries. A man I met said to me at one point, “I don’t know what it is, but everyone is so relaxed tonight.” I thought to myself, “I do!!” – LOL 🙂 🙂 🙂 I think verbally I probably said, “Yes”, or something like that. Yet I was struck with the profound sensation that he was picking up on what we had done (and were still doing) in the EarthShift. I also noticed a marked difference in my client sessions the day after we completed the Shift: an incredible Silence kept spontaneously arising within the sessions (especially with those who were actually in the class) and everything I cleared in the person went at such a rate! I would say at least twice as quickly as usual 🙂 

Here is what Ric Weinman wrote about this event beforehand: “I bumped up against something dark, and I tracked it to what seemed like some kind of consciousness program designed to resist the light. Further investigation showed me that a powerful interdimensional being (between the 7th & 8th dimension), had placed this consciousness program in all humans, and as a species we have carried this for some 80,000 years. More specifically, the program amplifies our identification with separateness, amplifies our sense of neediness and fear, and amplifies our negativity in general. All in all, it acts as a resistance to heart and to light.  

     These programs are not carried incarnationally; they need to be placed in babies after they are born. I have already wrapped this being in wizard thread so as to block its ability to continue to do this. But the programs already placed in all living humans are still active. The first day of the Earthshift will be focused on releasing those programs in all of humanity.  

     In tracking all this, I discovered that there were about 25 other, similar, interdimensional beings that in various different ways were supporting human negativity. With wizard thread, I have already neutralized their ability to continue to do so.  But one of them has also placed some kind of program into all human psyches. This program has more to do with creating distrust, which feeds isolation and conflict. The second day of the Earthshift will be focused on releasing this program. In addition, we will also create a protection field around humanity to prevent further implants of these kinds of programs from these kinds of beings.”

To continue with the final installment of the recent Awakening to Divinity class: there are 3 major phases to this aspect of awakening, sub-phases within those and then more sub-phases within those. Therefore, it is important to note that the total embodiment of Awakening to Divinity is probably a life’s work. This also gives a nod to the sheer depth of Ramana Maharshi’s evolution. In the embodiment process, what happens is that Divinity comes into awareness more and more and more…It takes over awareness gradually. 

Another interesting thing on the subject of Neediness (which is at the core of all human suffering), is that it doesn’t work to suppress or avoid it. In fact, the avoidance of Neediness often leads into addiction. Not only the obvious ones either, but even things like sports, “keeping busy” all the time, etc., because we just don’t want to feel that. The way through it, is to face it, get your awareness into it and clear it. 

The whole of creation is Divinity. It’s like Divinity writes this whole story, and then plays all the parts – using Method Acting. A terrible thing happening inside – or even in life – is Divinity pretending not to be Divinity. Versus the Divinity in the heart, which is Divinity not pretending, but simply being Itself. 

In Vortex Healing awakening classes, when we meditate / receive transmissions, it’s not that we are ‘trying to become One’. We already are One. The meditations are more like sign-posts saying, “This way.”

For those of you yet to visit Italy, I thought I would include this little entry from my diary in Sardinia, where I was taking this Awakening to Divinity class:-

“Italians always speak with their hands, as well as with their voice. You can tell what everyone means, even with a very basic grasp of the language. But it’s that warmth……that endless, effulgent feelingness which seems only to be waiting for a chance to burst forth. I’m not talking about in big things; it’s the small ways of humanness which make life here so pleasant, calming and inviting.”

Anything that we struggle with just becomes our struggle. And, in a nutshell, embodying awakeness / Divinity is the only true way through that. Mostly, this is because what we perceive as (and from) awakeness / Divinity, is perceived as what it really is.

A funny little synchronicity happened today. I had been planning on writing to you with a link for Amma’s Pujas in her Amritapuri ashram, in order to support your lives and processes. Today, I happened to use a Vortex Healing technique to perform a Puja for one of you, in session. So it seems as if Pujas – and the magic and Grace of them – are in the air 🙂 

These Pujas in the Indian ashram are performed in the traditional manner, by Pujaris chosen by Amma who have a deep alignment with the Divine. Amma very recently said that the world is going through a malific period in terms of Vedic astrology. So it would actually be ideal to get a Puja done at this time. All proceeds go to Amma’s charity ‘Embracing The World’. This global humanitarian initiative provides a Covid 19 relief program to Indians with no other assistance, pensions for women, financial support for orphanages and speciality hospitals across India, amongst many other projects. EarthShift 2021

Hello 🙂 

How are you?

I am buzzing and smiling today, from having taken the EarthShift class (which finished yesterday night) plus the day before that repeating Sensing 1. Some of you were there too 🙂 🙂 🙂 I don’t know how coherent this email will be – lol! But it’s worth a try, since I feel moved to write to you. 

The EarthShift itself was certainly the biggest we have ever facilitated as a lineage. The magnitude of that world event is simply impossible to convey in words. But what I can say is that the intention behind it was to alter a point of choice for humanity as a whole, in a radical way. There was a Choice Point 200,000 years ago, where humanity went down a darker path into conflict and violence. It’s obvious anywhere you look in history how that has played out. Why was this choice made, you may ask? More about choices later in this email. Back in the March 2019 EarthShift, we dissolved that ancient Choice Point. In this EarthShift, we manifested a New Choice Point for humanity, to take us into a path more aligned with Truth, Freedom and Divinity – as a whole human species. 

When you step outside today, please take a moment to feel the atmosphere in nature or in a person you are talking to. The EarthShift has left everything much lighter…….and whatever transformation has occurred is permanent, even though the feeling of that may not be permanent because it seems to go to the background of our awareness over time (and even though the effects of this transformation are entirely unpredictable). I’m not sure I can express much else about this event right now, as I am in the digestion phase. What I am eager to share with you are a few notes I made from classes. This is one of the most precious things about taking Vortex Healing classes – the discussions. We all learn so much from the teachers and from one another, and I want to share some of it with you. I have also added a sprinkling of my own wisdom, gathered during the course of my path. 

Sensing: people often wonder, “Why can’t I sense?” Actually everyone can sense, as it is an in-built human capacity. What blocks sensing is usually trauma, fear or anxiety, because of the way they create a shut-down against experience, which then gets stuck inside and carried forward. We need to stop ignoring, and feel what is there. As we process more and more, sensing usually follows. 

Strangely enough, people sometimes ‘lose’ their sensing ability when they take a Vortex Healing class in sensing. This is because they had been sensing from an out-of-body space, which they had originally landed in due to trauma etc. In these cases, what usually happens is that sensing goes away and then returns later on, when it is more aligned with Truth and Divinity. 

From a Vortex Healing perspective, there is nothing but Divine Choice. There was never any decision which was not made by Divinity itself, and there is no separate individual person with the power or the control to do so. Let’s take an apparent individual person, for example: there is all this conditioning going on constantly inside them… At any given moment, the Divine either allows that conditioning to play out, or it tweaks it a little. Occasionally it tweaks it a lot. This whole ‘play’ is going on all the time, not only when we notice it. This is so amazing to me… 

However, it’s not that ‘nothing matters’ or we don’t need to assume responsibility; it is more akin to a comment Adyashanti once made on this subject, which was that we have none of the power, but all of the responsibility. This responsibility is perhaps best taken in doing the inner work we know we need to do, or being around a genuine awake teacher, or simply daring to unchain ourselves in a difficult situation and do what the Divine is guiding us to do, rather than what we impulsively feel like doing. As we grow and mature in terms of awakeness, there is more ‘room’ (so-to-speak) for the Divine to come through untethered. All of this is not entirely accurate to say, but it’s the best I can do. 

The secret fantasy about sensing Truth is something like, “If I sense the truth of this situation / decision, then it will lead me to not suffer / into a path of less pain.” The reality about sensing Truth is that when we actually sense it – and follow what we sense – it will lead us into whatever we need to experience for our path. Be that suffering or not suffering (or any variation in between). The bigger picture is that, in a manner of speaking, Divinity is trying to get us to a particular place in our path. It doesn’t actually mind what it needs to do to get us there, or what that looks or feels like; it is not so concerned about that, because its true concern is so much vaster.

The idea that everything is a reflection of what is inside us is actually not a particularly useful one. More useful may be to see where we are reacting. These are the relationships or situations in which our remaining conditioning is being revealed – and that is very useful, because then we can directly experience what our issue is and work through it. Just by being aware of where we are reacting, we already have one foot out – into Freedom. Free Online Group Healing: Loneliness

Hello 🙂

How are you?

The subject of this week’s Group is Loneliness, and the reason I chose it is because this is something we all feel deep down inside. During the past week, I was with a friend and I began to weep and weep and weep – and it all just came pouring out. I didn’t actually know what I was feeling, only that I was feeling. But she knew, and explained that I was experiencing loneliness. Then through such an open-hearted original discussion with her, complete with more tears and snot :-), I began to see that despite its inherently isolating nature, loneliness is felt by everybody everywhere. For those with families, partners or living with close friends, they are locked in together sometimes 24/7 (in London at any rate) and may begin to feel that what they had projected into these relationships, isn’t actually there. (It isn’t meant to be there, but that is another discussion of its own, which we won’t go into right now). And so the loneliness arises from where it always was inside. For others like me, who are living a solo life, there is the more obvious form of loneliness. It is not something that is in any way dependent upon our circumstances, contrary to egoic perception. In reality, it is the primary feeling which follows on from any sense, big or small, of separation from Divinity – from our true nature. Perhaps you have also had your lockdown loneliness meltdown, or perhaps it is still to come. Either way, I believe you will get something important from this Group, where we will explore this deep and intimate facet of the human condition together. I will be including guided meditation, chanting (briefly) and transformative energy work, plus there will be a chance to feel connected to community and to share at the end if you wish to do so.

Free Online Group Healing: Opening to Unconditional Love

Hello 🙂

How are you?

I am writing today about a subject very close to my heart. Indeed it is the language of my Guru, Amma. What I have learned over the course of the last year, is that the real reason for our unhappiness and for the pain in our connections with other people, is not that we haven’t found someone / something we are looking for, or that there is something wrong with ‘them’ or with ‘us’ or with the world. When we look very deeply in meditation, we can see that the real reason for our suffering is that we are not loving properly. We are loving in a conditional way – in order to get something. And we are not loving the whole of the other person / ourselves / the animal / Mother Nature etc. When we really see this, actually see – without going into victim, shame, fear or any other position (which actually re-blinds us to what we have realised) – there becomes available profound liberation and freedom. Through the willingness to stop and accept what we see, this freedom settles within like a falling feather. And like a kind of silent sound, it spreads right out…………. Ironically, this pivotal event is the subtle dawning and beginning of real unconditional Love in our heart. 

From there, anything is possible! I would like to add that upon writing these very words, a fox-cub rushed in from the neighbouring garden and almost ran right into me! It suddenly realised I was a human and scurried away, turning to look only when I said, “Hello sweetie.” 

So I am inviting you into an exploration of this, if you are interested. In this coming Wednesdays’s Group, we will come together with the intention of opening to what unconditional Love really is. As part of this, I will be nourishing you with the tools of Vortex Healing Manifesting Intention, mantra sounds, Silence / meditation and holding a sharing circle at the end. Many of you have communicated having meltdowns recently. These are normal, but have also been catalysed by the continuation of lockdown. This is why I would like to assist you in moving from meltdown to melt-through. In many ways, this depends upon the Shakti available within us at a given moment in time. If there is enough Shakti (Divine energy) readily available in our system, every situation is met with non-reaction and simply melts through. It passes through without resistance, even if a truthful action is carried out. If there is not enough available Shakti, a reaction asserts itself – pushing back against Reality – in some type of conditioned reflex, like a battle which can only ever be lost. This group healing will be focused on increasing the Shakti within you and clearing the blocks to that.

The group session will include me channelling particular Mantras to awaken false identifications, and associated areas of conditioning, group prayer and connection, guided channelled healing, a chance to share your feelings with the group if you feel called to do so, and most importantly of all – a deepening in Silence / Being-Light-Love-awakeness, which could reveal these to be your own true nature.

Amma (the ‘hugging Saint’) has said that when we come together as a group in prayer or meditation, the Light increases. She gives the analogy that it is very difficult to read under the light of a very low wattage bulb. But when several such bulbs are connected together in a series, one can easily read a book under that light.

Free Online Group Healing: Inner Reconnection

Hello 🙂

I am offering a Free Online Group Healing this Thursday 23rd April at 1pm GMT. We will be focussing on Inner Reconnection: on contacting and relaxing into that inner sanctuary that can weather any storm without moving and without resisting. When we come into ourselves as we truly are, all anxiety, stress and strain subsides and we recognise the Love and beauty inside. In this way our eyes are opened to the beauty all around us, in each other, in nature and in all of life. This is the return to innocence that the heart both longs for and is simultaneously, yet is oftentimes hidden from feeling or view. I welcome you to de-frag, deepen and cast away any doubt in the prevalence of Loving awake presence.

The session will be 1 hour and will include the highest level of Vortex Healing, guided meditation, mantra chanting and the opportunity to be with other like-hearted souls, connecting together.

Quite a few people who were part of the last group session did not appear on Zoom; in that moment I decided to still send them the healing. Free Online Group Healing: Divine Deepening

How are you?

I am well and happy 🙂 This strange period in history is giving me the chance to fully embrace my mantra from Amma, the 1000 Names of the Divine Mother (Archana), Amma’s White Flowers Meditation and all the Vortex Healing work I am doing in groups and individually. Radiating Awakeness

Hello 🙂

How are you?

I am well and feeling very grateful indeed to be able to take (and even repeat) so many Vortex Healing classes at the moment. People have asked me why I do this and why I go to see Amma so much each year. Well the bigger reason why became apparent in a class discussion recently. Contemplate if you will, the impact that being awake out here ‘in the world’ is having. Have you ever thought about it? All of us living ordinary lives and daring to be conscious humans with a real sincerity for Truth, is actually its own transformative force. This force is indeed making a difference in the world. With this in mind the term ‘embodiment’ reveals itself to mean, living  from awakeness.

 

The most important thing

Anthony Gorman pointed out during EarthWorks III class, that perhaps the only truly valuable thing is time. Not money and not all the rest of the things we assign value to. But time. Every moment we spend directing ourselves towards Divinity, we are no longer wasting time. As Amma says, even one moment spent in meditation is not a waste of time.

Surrender

We, or those around us (particularly in spiritual circles), are frequently trying to surrender. But trying to surrender actually creates a rather nasty inner drama, full of conflict and struggle, self-judgment and the whole shebang – which may in turn block surrender.

True surrender does exist though, and does happen, yet it happens naturally. Perhaps it could be said that surrender happens when the time is right. It could be termed Divine Takeover. Sometimes what happens to facilitate this, is the Divine (in a manner of speaking) ‘sees’ that you aren’t willing to give up a particular thing in your life – so it simply takes it away from you. That movement is utterly different from the aforementioned struggle to surrender. It is rather like an adult taking a sharp object away from a child, which the child was experiencing as a toy.

Acting from Truth

There are many times in our lives when we wonder whether or not we are acting in the best possible way, or we question the truth of a situation. There is help available for this in a simple way.

When facing the situation, align inside (perhaps in the heart or spine) with whatever you see as the source of everything. This may be an avatar, the energy of a teaching, a lineage, a deep sensing of Truth, or something else like that. Then rather than asking, ‘What do I do?’, instead ask, ‘What needs to be done?’.

And wait…

Eventually a movement, or a word, or some other kind of guidance will arise. The idea is to move from a place of what needs to be done as a whole, rather than from what ‘I’ need or want.

Relationships

We often think that we are seeking, or are in, a relationship to find Love. But upon closer scrutiny, what we may find we are really looking for there is connection. This is an important distinction. But also, even that ‘looking’ for connection is really coming from feeling isolated. The consequence is that we tend to create co-dependant relationships, far more times than not.

The good news is, both Love and connection are already here 🙂 They are existing right now, as what you are – or in what you are (depending on the specific way you experience your true nature). When you see this, really truly see it…..wow….it changes everything…..

Imagine for a moment, no more seeking for connection. And then imagine no more seeking, full stop. Can you imagine that? What would it be like to not try to get anything out of relationship? I mean genuinely, naturally – rather than because a spiritual teaching told you to. What would that feel like?

Denial

Never underestimate the power of denial – lol! We all know someone who is in it. Of course, that person could never be us – lol! The position is easy to see from the outside. But how does denial work?

Denial creates a blindspot in a person’s consciousness. So much so that someone in denial can even state outright that they are not doing or feeling what they are in fact doing or feeling. A good example of this is a spiritual teacher who is abusing their students.

At some point the denial position was a choice, of sorts. Usually it would have been a survival choice. There is nothing inherently wrong with that. But harm comes from the consequences of that choice. It may have originally been made a very long time ago (becoming a patterned way of being further down the line, whenever a similar trigger arose). The question for the person in denial is, what am I going to choose now?

Furthermore, if it is Divine Intention for a person to come out of denial (and that certainly is an ‘if’), then it will probably take a sizeable event happening in their life to blow the whole thing up. If it is not in Divine Intention, then perhaps the denial will move in a future lifetime.

Bliss

Mmmmmm…Bliss……. We all love it. But what are we really experiencing?

Ric Weinman was explaining that from his point of view, there are two very different kinds of bliss. The most common kind is actually an egoic state. It is when the ego merges with the energy of bliss, expands and becomes thin – but very much still existing. You can see this a lot around awake teachers – within the sangha. This type of bliss can easily become an addiction. If the addiction continues, ‘bliss’ could actually become a trap which hinders the very thing it is supposed to be creating – i.e., awakening (or embodiment of awakening).

The other kind of bliss, the ‘real thing’ if you like, is hard to put into words. Bliss in this sense, is simply here. Bliss can just be here… Without fanfare. It is not a state. It is more akin to an ongoing expression of Divinity, subtle and beautiful. The only other way I can really describe it is to say that you will know it when you feel it. Some people are in touch with this all the time, although I would say that is rare.

Are you woke?

How awake we are really depends on how attached we are to the Light (Awareness-Being-Light-Love) versus the life ‘things’ (food, TV, sex, and other life attachments and dramas). The weird thing is that, given the choice – even though the Light is freedom and real fulfilment – the vast majority of people still choose the latter, including those who directly experience the difference. This is worth contemplating.

Much later on in the awakening embodiment evolution, there is a sort-of second phase. It is when one becomes unattached to one’s attachments. Then one is free to be the Light itself AND the humanness itself, at the same time.

 

2020 : may it be the year of 2020 internal vision for all of us 🙂

As many of you know (consciously or subconsciously ;-), there was an Earthshift last weekend. This is a Vortex class in which we get together collectively to positively impact global issues. Ric Weinman (Vortex founder) discovered that there are 4 sources of darkness behind the human species (not other species) and then there is a deep root which feed these 4. Rather than being anything to do with what people call ‘evil’, rather the 4 sources of darkness feel like the essence of separation. Every egoic behaviour you see in the world is supported by separation consciousness, and an important part of that is arising from these sources of darkness behind humanity. Examples of this in human behaviour are things like people wanting power in a megalomaniac way, or a person feeling hurt and then going about hurting others, etc. You may have asked yourself, why do people do these kinds of things? Basically because they are not resting in the Beingness within themselves.

It is not possible to simply break down all 4 sources (and certainly not the original root) at once, because they are simply too massive. So instead we created a huge filter around the ‘newest’ source of darkness. It was a huge effort as a group, involving the creation of many Divine Doors, structures, energetic crystals and other devices, which were then glued together and sent to filter the source of darkness out from human consciousness. The angelic realm gave us a lot of support for this 🙂 So now the whole of humanity is operating without being overwhelmed by the influence of at least one of these massive sources of darkness 🙂 We will continue this work in future Earthshifts.

Timeless Magic

How are you?

I am well and feeling buzzed after completing the first ever EarthWorks IV training with Vortex Healing teacher Anthony Gorman, here in London 🙂 There were around 70 of us in class, and so we had plenty of support for the embodiment process we were in personally (so-to-speak) and for doing some deep healing on the earth and humanity.

I am so excited! 🙂

Something cool which you may want to do – if you are a Vortex Healing student yourself – is to make use of the EarthWorks IV Rifting Divine Door outside The Columbia Hotel (where you do most of your classes in London). It is on the ‘traffic island’ opposite the entrance to the hotel, between the benches where there is an artistic circle created on the pavement. If you tune in with Merlin, stand in the middle and wait….be patient….. You will feel yourself being moved, perhaps even several times in different directions. Keep going, and at the same time be patient and rest in your heart. Eventually, when you feel invited to, move forward in the direction you feel drawn to, and leave the circle. You will have undergone a complete Rift of your life! In other words, the timeline and direction of your life has been transformed, to be more deeply aligned with Truth and Divinity.

I can now make Divine Doors at a distance, so please ask for this if you would like it. These work much better for a place or situation than an object, when at a distance. All Doors take around 25 mins to create. Please also note that the transmissions from EarthWorks IV automatically upgraded every Divine Door I have made before, including any for you or your life etc. 🙂

Whether at a distance or in-person, all kinds of EarthWorks IV Divine Doors can be made for you (including Merlin Divine Doors, Rifting Divine Doors, Healing Stream Divine Doors etc – please see last email for more examples), with the probable exception of one type of Door, which we have be warned against using on anyone personally, except ourselves. This is an EarthWorks IV MRLN Divine Door. Essentially, it could be too extreme in terms of transformation to use at will like that. The exception to this is that I can make one for a situation only.

A very cool addition to Divine Doors is the Merlin Magical Renewal Divine Door, which creates a kind of healing reset, or new beginning. One way of using this amazing Door is for you to write (to life itself) a short letter about your issue etc. I then create a Merlin Magical Renewal Divine Door into that letter. The Door will work on the situation indefinitely from there 🙂

Something quite extraordinary happened, which is that we made a Weather Funnel as a group for Australia, and the next day – it began pouring with rain there! Make of that what you will. For me, it cannot be coincidence. The Funnel is a Divine device designed to effect positive transformation in weather systems.

One of the main advantages of these EarthWorks classes is that I can now make all kinds of new upgraded Divine Doors and put them into spaces, objects or body systems etc. – even at a distance. So please do ask for this. A Divine Door is a magical device which permanently brings concentrated Divine Light into whatever it is made in. Feel free to email me if you would like a more detailed explanation of what these are. I didn’t want to go into a wordy explanation here, for those who are not needing this. Essentially, it’s that as a group we have much more power to effect healing transformation in spaces or situations all over the world, by creating permanent Divine openings to facilitate healing. So that’s what we did, and it’s what these particular classes are really all about.

Something interesting which we discussed in class was capitalism. It really made me feel validated in my everlong scepticism about this modality. We were agreeing that, even though there may not be a viable alternative right now, capitalism only works if you are willing to really abuse nature and this planet. Maximising profit alone is a dysfunctional way to carry on, which has been proven through masses of experience. This led me to thinking about the Divine Feminine, perhaps because Amma has said that awakening the feminine / Divine Mother energy everywhere is the only hope for the world to survive and thrive. I didn’t truly know what the feminine was (on the level of mind) until I sat down to contemplate it. To me, the feminine is connectivity, receptivity, devotion, love, nurture, effulgence and trust.

Happy New Year to you 🙂 🙂 🙂 May 2020 bring you real Love, Truth and effulgence on every level.

How are you?

I am well now, but I must be honest in saying that it’s been a wild rollercoaster processing everything in Steve and I’s ending. That is why I haven’t written for a while. What we learn in the break-up of a deep long-term relationship is often just as valuable as what we learn in the relationship itself.

As some of you know, I attended the Vortex Healing classes ‘Sensing III’ and ‘Sensing IV’ with Anthony Gorman in Holland, in late November. I found the classes so powerful in terms of how they changed my life and how embodied I was by the end, that I actually felt all other paths except for Amma and Vortex Healing fall away. It is hard to express the depth of gratitude I feel……and the expertise that I feel Anthony has, in addition to the sheer healing power of this lineage… The experience of catalysed evolution in terms of my path from taking Vortex Healing classes is phenomenal…

Anthony summed up the classes as a deepening in Magic. I agree! The classes are also designed to deepen and improve our sensing (psychic feeling / seeing) as practitioners. I look forward to continuing to share the benefits of these trainings in my sessions with you. I feel so grateful and happy that I can work with you: thank you for showing up to your lives and making this work a part of doing that.

Why Breaking Up Is Sometimes Good

Hello 🙂

How are you? I have quite a lot to tell you today. Firstly, who came to Amma? And how was it, if you did? One of you summed up her first experience with Amma in such a beautiful way that I want to share it. She said, “I’m just completely blown away by her. It’s the highest level of love. How lucky are we to be in her presence.” And that’s it.

I found this part of Amma’s speech particularly inspiring. Amma said that anger is the only thing that can truly defeat us; whereas patience is true victory. She pointed out that there are numerous things each day which can cause us to get angry. But when we do, we actually empower that situation or person to control our mind. Amma compared projecting anger at someone with grabbing a burning ember and throwing it at them: we get burned first, before burning the other person.

As you may have guessed from the title of this newsletter, Steve Vieau and I’s awakened relationship has come to its final end. It happened on the 15th October, hence my recent silence and withdrawal. I don’t feel that it is necessarily appropriate to share details about how the break-up happened. But I will say that it was deeply shocking, almost like experiencing trauma or PTSD. After that, it was excruciatingly painful and devastating for me, because he is the love of my life. The pain was beyond words, unbearable loss – almost as if I was losing Amma – which plunged me into literally the deepest darkness of my life. Thank goodness I was then miraculously with Amma in person. After what She transmitted to me, I am now beginning to experience the ending of Steve and I’s relationship as a healthy and powerful hit to my ego: a way for the Divine to completely destroy what is untrue inside, and create transformation. The whole thing is gradually becoming sobering, humbling and liberating. Which is why I chose the title I did for this newsletter today. Thank you to all those who rode the rollercoaster of the past two years with us, supporting us in our journey together. I also want to express how much solace and love I am finding in the Divine, in my friends and in all of you: my work is even more precious to me at this time.

Divine Doors

Hello 🙂

How are you?

I am rejoicing in learning today 🙂 I learned so much from listening to Anthony Gorman on the Vortex Healing classes I took with him recently, here in London. One thing was a completely new way of looking at bridging (not sensing, but rather the connection from me to you which allows Divine energy to penetrate deeply into your system). The aspect of bridging that I knew most about, is a manner of connecting with you as oneness. And then it’s as if I create rivers through which the Divine energies pour and move themselves into you. But Anthony explained another side of bridging, which I had thought about less. He said that what makes us better bridges (and more “qualified” – to use his word – as healers to address issues in you), is actually what we have survived and worked through ourselves. I find this profound… I always had a slight inkling that my own life experiences were designed in some mysterious way for the service of others, but I hadn’t heard this spoken out loud before.

To follow on from what I wrote about the EarthWorks classes I attended recently, I wanted to mention that I can make a Divine Guidance Door into an object for you, as part of a session. This helps you with your own sensing and seeing from Truth. It takes about 15mins – like a regular Divine Door. You can sit with the object, or ask questions if that is more natural to you. For example, I made one for myself in a small rose quartz crystal. Other possibilities include an Angelic Divine Door. Believe it or not, I have one of those in my trainers! Nature Divine Doors are also available.

“A bad day for your ego, is a good day for your soul” ~ Amma

Hello 🙂

How are you?

I am well and noticing a flow of Grace into my life recently. Feeling blessed 🙂 I really enjoyed going to see Amma’s close devotee, Brahmachari Shubamrita, when he gave his talk ‘Finding Our True Home’ here in London on Sunday. It was wonderful to be with someone through whom I feel Amma moves so deeply, and to be with my community. It was fantastic that some of you could make it! I was delighted to see you there! Please email me with any further thoughts you have about your experiences at this beautiful event.

What I feel was really conveyed by Br. Shubamrita, is that there is no real home outside our True Self. That, in itself, is radical – if you really take a moment to absorb it. The Brahmachari (a type of monk who has taken vows) went on to tell us a little story about this. Back in the 80s, when the crowds around Amma were very very small, he asked her to come and visit him in his home. At first she seemed not to hear him, so he left it. Then, once he had another opportunity, he again invited Amma to his home. This time Amma laughed and said, “My son, I am always in your home, but you are never there. You are always wandering somewhere else.”

Shubamrita highlighted the crucial importance of regular spiritual practice (sadhana) in bringing us back into the Self, into the space of Silence inside, which is also the only place that true happiness is found. And another, perhaps even more important way of ‘staying at home’ he said, is to spend time with masters like Amma in person; in other words, to be with a being who is permanently rooted in the Self, until we ourselves can really say that we are. I agree that, without the direct physical presence of a Self-Realised Master, the likelihood of true abidance as the Self is vaguely possible, at best.

The highlight of the visit by Amma’s close devotee, from my perspective, was the music. Bhajan bliss 🙂 🙂 🙂 It has been said that music tries to express what language cannot. I think a bhajan – when sung by someone whose heart is truly with God – takes this statement to its ultimate conclusion. The only thing I can relate it to, if you have not experienced this particular thing, is making love. Are we not also trying in this, to express that for each other which language fails to? Furthermore, that is really what the Bhakti path (the path of devotion) is, in a far more profound sense. Perhaps along similar lines, it could be said that Bhakti actually succeeds in expressing what making love comes close to. There is this completion with Bhakti that is utterly total……like a circle being drawn, coming together again, with God as the artist.

Giving Sessions in London :-)

Hello 🙂

How are you?

I am well and feeling rejuvenated after my trip to see Amma in Canada. I have to say that this was one of the most incredible times I have ever had with Amma, or in my life – well, they always seem to go together 🙂 I feel so much Grace and fortune have come to me, and so blessed to have been part of what was going on there. I am now back giving sessions in London, so please do message or call me.

Before I went on my trip, a friend was telling me the way he thinks of Amma. He said, “To me, she is the Master of Being Human”. I love that!!! I have often said that it is Amma who has taught me the most over the years about how to be a better human being. But this expression from my friend says this and even more. I generally think of Amma as Divine (which is fair enough, because I perceive her as the exact embodiment of Divinity in human form, very rare) yet this description stunned me. It also contains the flavour of Amma’s own humility. Swami Dayamrita once captured a similar-ish kind of sentiment when he said in a documentary about his time with Amma, “I don’t care if she is God or she is Devil – she is my Mother.” He went on to say that the biggest miracle he has ever seen Amma perform is her Darshan. Day after day and hour after hour. He said that it isn’t even the great human feat of being able to do this that moves him most; it’s that she would want to do it.

I would like to pass on to you some of the teachings and expressions I gathered from my time at the Toronto program. Something Amma said which touched me very deeply was this: don’t ever hesitate to give love, because love is the only thing that you can always give. 🙂 🙂 🙂 – You know those times when you’re not sure..? When you feel like withholding love from someone..? And then there’s that moment when you go one way or the other..? That’s the space getting addressed here I feel. So beautiful… Amma also said that this human life is meant to be born in love, to be lived in love and to end in love.

I think my favourite thing of all that Amma said this time follows here. During the retreat, we were getting ready for the Q&A session, in which anyone can ask a public question to Amma. Amma announced that it was time, adding that 2 + 2 can never equal 5: the Truth has been given already, she said. So we can ask about our personal problems, what we see, what we hear, what we sense etc. She left it at that. There was still a Q&A session, but how transformed we all were in it!

During her Devi Bhava speech, Amma expressed that we should not allow praise to get to our heads or criticism to get to our hearts. She also reminded us that growing old is not the same as growing up: growing old happens without any effort and is the journey towards death, but growing up happens when we mature spiritually, and is the journey towards immortality. She pointed out that even the next breath is not in our hands. We need to recognise this truth, she said, and spend the time we have left in this life realising God within (which she defined as, that within us which cannot be changed). In connection to this, Amma has often said that far from being a luxury, God realisation is our birthright.

Where does happiness lie?

How are you?

It is possible to have been on a spiritual path or an awakening path for many years, yet still hold on to secret drives, particularly regarding happiness. Even though all of this can easily be spiritualised of course 😉 So, where does happiness really lie? I would love to receive your feelings and ideas about this, so please do write to me if you feel to.

I suppose the way this question got answered for me, wasn’t so much by asking the question and then analysing: it came in a different way. It was more a case of something which was there before, falling away – and noticing what was gone. One day, I went to Amma’s ashram in London to do seva. Before beginning the seva, there was a satsang (literally meaning, meeting in truth). I don’t know why on that day I had such a profound realisation, since I do many of those satsang practices every day, and have done for years. As I was chanting Archana (the 1000 Names of the Divine Mother), I was staring at Amma’s picture on the altar in front of us all. Suddenly something hit me like a flash : the source of happiness lies within me. It was quite a shock, and yet so evident and in a way, obvious, even though this whole thing was very subtle. Then a cascade of insights followed, such as the fact that happiness is never going to be found in a man, or in a partnership, in having a child, or in anything external. And also, I realised that the words ‘happiness is a choice’ (as Amma has said many times) are actually true. I realised that I am not “going to find it” in a relationship, I am not “going to find it” ‘one day’. Happiness is here, now! Happiness is already here, before I begin looking for it. On the level of thought, it was like, “Wow! Happiness is nowhere outside me.”

Is it personal?

Hello 🙂

How are you?

I am well. I have recently been thinking and talking about the turn that happens during embodiment of awakening. I am talking about the turn from the personal to the impersonal. From taking everything personally (and therefore seriously) to a way of being that is totally impersonal, no matter what the circumstance is. It’s not a turn that is made, yet it is a turn which happens. A person in this no longer experiences themselves at the centre of their life and therefore, naturally, things are no longer taken personally. But even more than that, there is this movement into the impersonal, which seems to have endless depth, life, laughter and compassion. Life goes from ‘trying to get what the me wants (and thinking that that is very important)’ to a simple following through of the Truth and Love at the heart of the original awakening. But you can’t fake this! It can only happen of its own accord, like the way in which a flower opens. Then life lives through the humanness, so to speak, without any regard for whether that humanness likes what is coming through, or it doesn’t like it. After all, there is so much more at stake than that, because ultimately this entire ‘thing’ is kind-of like unstrategised service for the whole – for everything and everyone – yet not from anyone. Truly self-less service, which is nothing more than an outpouring of formless awakeness into forms. Far from being cold, this impersonal movement is full of Love and tenderness, without any special person it is directed to (or from, for that matter) and without any specific direction. What gets revealed is Uncaused Love, uncaused joy, uncaused everything…

Are any of you coming to see Adyashanti on the evening of the 16th August for his rare satsang in London…? Tickets may still be available through Alternatives. Even if they aren’t, if I were you I would turn up and try to get in. Adya is simply priceless….. Who else is there to see, really? – I often ask myself. In my opinion, no popular teacher is more embodied in their awakening and at the same time has the kind of bridging power he has. For example, in answering questions, he can bridge into the questioner in a way that creates real movement in terms of Truth. This ‘action’ requires Love, compassion, skill and training – but most of all, the ability to remain rooted in Truth in a very deep way indeed. Adya’s wife Mukti is giving a retreat (daylong) in London on the Sunday, and there are definitely still tickets available for that : www.adyashanti.org . I wasn’t taken with her work the first time I saw her, but a good friend recently changed my mind about her and I experienced a real turnaround (I ‘grocked’ her, as Adya would say :-), so I am booked onto that.

It occurred to me on the bus last week, that if you remove the L from Loneliness you get Oneliness. That made me smile 🙂 It really is like this. Real life is like this, because Loneliness is the ultimate sensation of separation from your Divinity, and Oneliness is that Divinity.

We have the tendency to think that there are very few masters who have truly realised the Self, and to want to give up easily on this birthright and this path. But, as Amma points out, this is not true; just as it is not true that it is too difficult for us. I think that for women in particular this can be a deep issue, which obscures the inherent awakeness. I really like this quote because of how orienting and opening it is. Read in a certain way, it directs the intent and perhaps the ego itself, even, to the Source.

Divinity Intended

How are you? I am very well and settling into my new home in South East London. Yes, I have moved 🙂 I had no idea what a real home with the most appropriate energies around you could do for a person… It really is amazing how different I feel about everything and how much freer I feel on a human level.

I would like to share with you this piece of writing I did about 3 years ago, which I uncovered during the move. I wrote it on a retreat, held by my friends Chetana and Will. I hope that perhaps it carries you somewhere:-

Divinity Intended

I cannot speak…for talking this out is nothing at all anymore. This Silence bears witness to all of that and is also all of that. No need for words anymore. My silent spoken friend, awareness, finally stayed after his tea was drunk.

I saw what is true for me and accepted the somehow burden of it. This being done, You came in again. Then, the deeper revelation – the surrender……. No holding back this time. You showed me all, You revealed Yourself in the night, in the day, in the detail – all at once. That timeless moment – Now. All my burdens are laid down in You. All my heavy weighty blindness and my deafness to Your song is gone. Now I see it all. The game that I played – You knew my every move. You were always bathing it in that Light, yet only now can I see this.

What needs to happen, needs to happen. Yes, this is true. But what I failed to understand was the pitch perfect way this is all going. The sheerness of a thousand songs called out in Your name. It must be as it is and as it will be. You are the One, I am That. I found You again, and in the finding, I am no longer me. No longer isolated from You, my beautiful Muse, my all, my everything. I didn’t know that this way is the way. This precise way which you are unfolding… Divinity Intended. Not outside anymore, not happening to a me. Divinity Intended. A button unbuttoned and a comb combed. The jeans and the hair of Existence.

What has to happen…it’s unfolding, opening – at Its pace alone. Only Your rhythm exists. You lovemaker… It’s all happening now, and now, and now. There is no other; no other at all. This is Your game, and I feel no distance from You anymore. Somehow, I have not transferred this, not managed to translate this – the incredible depth of what is here.

Earthshift and Deepening in Divinity

How are you?

I am well and finally getting the chance to sit down and write to you. At the end of my time with Amma in India, I actually went on an unplanned trip to Boston to do some advanced training in Vortex Healing, as some of you have heard.

The first class I took was the ‘Earthshift’. This type of Vortex class is a fantastic opportunity to work on the earth and on humanity’s consciousness as a whole. Ric (the founder of Vortex Healing and teacher of this class) had perceived a particular point of ‘choice’ in human history where the human race had moved into a type of Maliciousness / negativity / evil. He wanted our help as a group to release this karmic choice point (which had actually happened 200,000 years ago), thereby aligning humanity a little more closely with Love and Truth instead. The angelic realm was very involved in this. Amongst other extras, we also focussed our channelling power into humanity’s psyche and the individual karmic burdens which were part of this Maliciousness at the level of humanity as a whole.

The second class was one in which we melted into embodiment of another class I took a few years ago (you may remember, it was called ‘Awakening to Divinity’). This class was about resting in and as Divinity, utilising powerful group meditations and transmissions to assist this. There really isn’t much to say about that as you can imagine – lol! But what I can speak about are the new skills and insights I have to offer you in sessions, which also came from this training.

Ric discovered that the core emotional (karmic + genetic) position of human beings and also other species, is Loneliness. The Core Loneliness we feel deep down exacerbates the false sense of separation from Divinity, and in turn creates hunger for various things : power, status, security, sex, connection, love etc. etc. At the same time, the survival anxiety conditioning we carry fuels that hunger. So this core emotional position is very important to address and can have amazing results, which is why we even worked on Core Loneliness in the class itself.

Whereas before in session, the Divine was transmuting the point of choice (in terms of a particular issue) for you (i.e., the point in childhood where something happened, like a trauma, and you ‘chose’ to align with and continue a particular past-life theme), because of this class several other Choice Points can also now be released – including Genetic and BodyMind Choice Points.

Another amazing tool I have from this class is called Bio-Dynamic Flow. Receiving this work feels a bit like Cranial-Sacral or Jin Shin techniques. A variety of ‘flows’ and ‘tides’ that exist everywhere in creation are activated and directed to melt away places of rigidity and tension in the human body, and system as a whole. This Bio-Dynamic Flow moves in slow waves, akin to there being a ‘very long tide’ in Cranial work, if you like. Please note that this particular tool can only be used in person. The best description I have heard of it so far was from a client, who said, “It’s like relaxing at the level of atoms.”
