All the goodness will come to us
Hello 🙂
How are you? 🙂
When buying some ashram clothes here in Amritapuri, I entered the changing room and immediately saw this on the wall, which inspired me greatly :-

Please note : I am with Amma in India and plan to be until 21st March. I have opened my full schedule for sessions here, so my availability is as usual, except for the timezone now being IST.

I was staying in a hotel in Trivandrum after I arrived in India. I had planned to go to Amritapuri on New Year’s Eve. The morning of the big day came and I sat to do my daily Archana (the 1000 Names of the Divine Mother). Suddenly, a love song began to run through my mind… I was gazing at Amma’s photo at the same time and I could see Her eyes brightening at me from the photo, shining and piercing with Light. Not figuratively, but literally. After a while of being with Amma, one understands these kinds of little miracles as natural phenomena. I felt so in love with Her…I began to cry from devotion. When I arrived at the ashram that evening, Amma was singing in the big hall. The first thing I saw were the lyrics to the bhajan, which read, “With the ink of my tears I write you a thousand love songs.” I was struck by the synchronicity. A passenger in Mumbai airport had previously asked me why I was going to see Amma. I replied that I wanted to learn about compassion and also to volunteer for what I see as the greatest charity the world has ever known. Yet standing there in that moment on New Year’s Eve, I realised that it was really out of love. Wouldn’t I want to go to the one I love..? Further beauty even arrived later on, in the form of my favourite bhajan, which was sung as the climax of the session. What a welcome… 🙂

A couple of days into my visit, I bumped into my friend Tony Fernandez who is part of a deeply significant little group in London. He introduced me to Ramya, whom I had actually been waiting to meet for years. I would like to share with you a bit about her story. She first came to Amritapuri in 1987 to study Amma, because she was doing her degree in Social Anthropology at LSE University. When Ramya finally left the ashram, Amma told her to start a satsang in London and that She would come to her house. In 1988, Amma did indeed come to her house – not a centre, not a designated hall, but a normal house! Even more thrilling than that for me, was the realisation that her house was only 34 minutes walk away from my house, which I was growing up in as a child the same year. Amma’s radiance therefore couldn’t have failed to reach me, all the way back then. This left me speechless….the implications of it are infinite…………

Ramya and Tony Fernandez 🙂

I would like to share a few quotes from the daily programs here with Amma, which I have found particularly true and inspiring :-
“As a strong wind carries away a boat on the water, so even one of the senses upon which the mind focuses can carry away all of one’s wisdom” (from a bhajan)
During one of the beach meditations, Amma gave some advice to the children sitting with Her. She told them not to kill the ants – just blow them away. She explained, “Just like you, they also have a father and a mother and siblings. Wouldn’t your parents feel sad if someone hurt you? Like this, the ants’ parents will cry if you kill them. Just blow them away.”

Love,
xDaisy
